The Fifth Step toward Riches

IMAGINATION: THE WORKSHOP OF THE MIND is indeed just that. An extra room in my home where plans are drawn out and the destiny of my future is created. Just think of it, it is a wonderful place to come and collect my day dreams and then craft them into reality.

I have discovered over time that the dreams that I carefully plan out and the put action to in real time have a way of becoming reality. Those that sit on a shelf in a corner of my workshop and pop in and out of my mind never seem to come to fruition.

Hill say's, "MAN’S ONLY LIMITATION, within reason, LIES IN HIS DEVELOPMENT AND
USE OF HIS IMAGINATION." How does one develop imagination you might ask . Here is what I have discovered. Now that I am "older and wiser" I revisit my childhood from time to time and re-call the hours of activity outside playing with my friends and using our imagination to create a world of what ever we desired right down to collecting sumack leaves for our money and we had plenty of it and could buy what ever our hearts desired and our minds could imagine.

We didn't have television, computers,i Phones and the like to alter our imagination. The world evolves and changes and it is a good thing if we don't allow ourselves to be controlled by it. That's exactly what happens as we grow older, we allow the gadgets to take over our brain and we stop dreaming and imagining what is possible and instead we only hear the chatter and the noise of the world as it goes speeding past us.

It's not too late for anyone, no mater what season of your life you find yourself. Hill says,"Your imaginative faculty may have become weak through inaction. It can be revived and made alert through USE. YOU CAN DO IT!(I can do it!) IT HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE! Ideas are the beginning points of all fortunes. Ideas are products of the imagination.

Michael had an idea and created the Mentoring For Free community. We all have an idea that is waiting for us to give it permission to become. Like the clerk who risked his entire savings, IDEAS CAN BE TRANSMUTED INTO CASH THROUGH THE POWER OF DEFINITE PURPOSE, PLUS DEFINITE PLANS.

I love this chapter because it gives me so many ideas and stimulates my imagination. I'm thinking it should be a required daily read especially when we fall victim to the thought that network marketing doesn't work. Nothing works when we let our imagination and our ideas die.

to keep up on what's happening in the MLM Industry.

The post below is worth reading even though it is from

a few months ago.

Len Clements posted an article about a company
that sent out a "Dear John" letter to all it's distributors. You can
read the letter here

Len Clements site is just one of the MLM News sites that I
visit on a regular basis and one of the things I have learned
to do over the past 4 years is to think critically.

If you want to buy a Chevrolet are you going to ask
the friend who drives a Ford what he/she thinks of the
Chevrolet? I think NOT!
If you need expert advice about diabetes, you wouldn't ask a
podiatrist about it. Well, same goes for Network Marketing.

If you want to build a Business from home, learn from
someone who is CURRENTLY, did I say Currently, building a
business from home right now.

Many of these so called MLM Guru's are not Currently building

an MLM Network Company. They just want you to think they

are. The result is they are telling you what to think, not how to think.

It's easy to fall into that trap when there are so many deals out

there that make it sound so easy - like it's overnight success.

Ya, Right! It just does not work like that, believe me, I've been there.

I am an average person with a passion to make my corner of the world

a better place for everyone. I have been taken in by a few Guru's so I

know what I'm talking about. Since plugging into a community of free

mentors I have learned how what a Professional Network Marketer is

and how to think critically to avoid getting a "Dear John" letter from

any company I choose to represent.

Chapter 6- Think And Grow Rich

I'd like to think that I've always had a good
imagination and it has served me well over
the years.

In high school, I imagined I would marry my
high school sweetheart have 4 children, 2
boys and 2 girls, in that order and live
happily ever after on a five acre plot of land
and be self-sufficient.

Well, I did marry my high school sweetheart
and we did have 4 children, 2 boys and 2
girls in that order. We bought our plot of land
in the country and I "thought" we were living
happily ever after until my husband left me
for another woman.

It was my dream, not his and life was difficult
for awhile. I picked myself up, dusted myself off and
started over again. By now my family is grown, but
my imagination and dream is still alive and well.

I meet my soul mate, we marry and life is good
again. I didn't quite get all the pieces in place
when cancer enters the picture and I got side
tracked, derailed is more like it. My soul mate
fought hard for three years and left this earthly
home for a better place on Feb 13th, 2009

But my desire is so strong and embedded so deep
that it keeps popping up in my conscious mind
and I know, without a shadow of doubt, that if I
stay focused and keep working on me, that I will,
one day, have my perfect "happily ever after" life.

I own the enchanted kettle, I'm just perfecting the
receipt, the main ingredient is me. So, no matter
what detours cross my path in life, my thoughts
are focused on the good things and life keeps
getting better every day. They say everything
happens for a reason, we just don't see it right
away.

"The story of practically every great fortune starts
with the day when a creator of ideas and a seller
of ideas got together and worked in harmony."
BUT - Hill writes it took "25 years" of determined
effort before that favorable "break" became an
asset.

You know what Michael, I don't care how long it
takes. I have connected with the right team
and we are devotedly working together in
harmony for that favorable"break" to become
an asset. And for the first time in my life, I can
actually see it.

Chapter 5 - Think And Grow Rich

Hill is very clear - if you want to pursue the "grow rich"
part of his philosophy, you must specialize - and you
must become single - minded in pursuit of your specialty.

If you know your aim or purpose and are committed to
it, it is only logical that you will want to learn all you can
about it.

Napoleon Hill and his co-author W. Clement Stone, devised a
formula called R2/A2, a method for gaining knowledge that
also has a relationship with the law of attraction.

R2 = Recognize and Relate. A2 = Assimilate and Apply
In order to attain any goal in life first, you must learn to
recognize, relate, assimilate and then apply the principles
from what you see, hear, think and experience.

The blueprint then, for gaining knowledge, is treating
everything in your life as a source of creative ideas.

The IDEA is the main thing.
Back of all ideas is specialized knowledge. IMAGINATION
is the one quality needed to combine specialized knowledge
with ideas into an organized plan that yields the desired
outcome.

Sounds simple enough when you read it. I have lots of Ideas,
always have, ever since I was a child. It's what keeps me going and
moving forward.

My personal experience........
Some of my ideas have materialized and some have not.
Interesting, now that I think about it. One of the latest ideas
was to have a home that was designed exactly the way
I wanted it.

My Imagination was running full steam ahead
as I began to organize my plan. With pencil
in hand and graph paper ready the idea began
to take shape. Once I had all my ideas on paper,
it was ready for the specialized knowledge of
a contractor to make it happen.

I am now living in the home that was once an
idea in my mind. Specialized knowledge may
be found just around the corner - any corner...
You can make it happen when the desire is
strong enough. I did it once, I can do it again.

For me, Mentoring For Free is the specialized
knowledge that will take my desired idea to,
successfully build the most incredible team of
like minded leaders in the history of network
marketing, easily and consistently through
education and team work, to it's tangible
existence.

But.....It's up to me to prepare and execute the plan.
My observations.......staying close to the fire, being
coach-able and moving into action, will, without a
doubt in my mind, take my business and my personal
life to the next level of experiencing the time freedom
that is possible when you follow a proven duplicatable

Autosuggestion

Chapter 4 - Autosuggestion

Autosuggestion is self-suggestion so what I feed
my mind is suggesting the out come of my life.
Junk in Junk out! I am in absolute control over
the material, which reaches my subconscious
mind and ultimately the way I live out my life.

I did not grow up with the influence of television
as a child. I recall playing outdoors with my
friends and creating a special place in the woods
where we could pretend how our lives would be
when we grew up.

It was a safe place, away from the reality of the
real world of hurt, violence and disappointment.
As I travel the road of life, I go back to this place
often and recall the dreams and hopes that I had as
a child.

I am so grateful now, as look back over the years
that I had the opportunity to explore and feed my
mind with hopes and dreams. The seeds of
autosuggestion were planted, although I did not
realize it then.

Life got in the way of my hopes and dreams and
slowly I forgot about them. You see, I did not feed
them with the right food, I see that now.

Since finding Mentoring For Free my dreams and
hopes have awakened again. That seed planted so
many years ago has been awakened.

It’s springtime and the weeds must go so the
flowers of hope can once again bloom as they did
in the woods of my childhood hide-away place.

A place where I once owned my life no matter
how bad my surroundings were. I controlled my
life in that special place of my childhood and I can
do it again, if for no other reason than because I
deserve it.

It’s time to claim that childhood dream, to speak
of that dream, to feel, taste, hear and see that
dream become my new reality.

So, what does this have to do with
autosuggestion? It’s awakening the seed of desire;
pulling up the weeds and feeding my mind with
the things that will nurture and feed
life back into that dream.

By following the instructions that Hill has put
forth in chapter 4 a new door has been opened
and the possibilities are endless.

While I still grieve the loss of my husband,
reading and journaling ease the pain.

"There is a time for everything, and a season
for every activity under heaven:"

It is my hope and prayer that I may touch
someones life in ways that help them grow
stronger as a person and true friend.

My Journey Through Grief

No one is immune to loss and the resulting dynamics of grief.
Feb 14th 2009, Valentines Day, my husband and I were supposed
to be celebrating our 20th anniversary of our engagement.

Instead, I was planning his funeral. His battle with cancer was over.
God called him home on Feb 13th at 9:50 PM.
He fought a good fight. He was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer
Jan 3rd 2006. In June of 2006 he was given less than a year, just a
few months the Doctor said. "No way! , I thought, this is not happening
to us."

I believe I started the grieving process way back here, and at the
same time was hanging on to hope that a cure was just around the corner.
We had plans, places to go, people to see, things to do. Our 20th
Wedding Anniversary was coming up May 27th. Gaylord had never
been on a train, we were planning a train trip for our Anniversary.

And then there was a new stadium coming in 2010. Gaylord wanted
to go to a ball game in the new stadium. He loved sports! For
three years, we would make goals to reach for and he would beam
with joy each time we reached a goal. He was doing so good for two
and half years and then in Oct, 2009, his Doctor gave us the news
that the tumor was growing again.

We stayed optimistic right up to the last day. We lived each day the
best we knew how to, taking in as much of life and living that we
could. I could see he was getting weaker and without saying the
words, we both knew the inevitable was getting closer. And now...

How do we define it? Grief is an experience we all share. Yet,
what is grief? What shape do we give to it? Grief is one of life's
most poignant moments. We don't talk about it, or try to find
a definition for it until we are in the midst of it - a time filled
with pain and confusion.

I have experienced loss in other forms, but this time is very
different. I don't think it's possible to find one definition of
grief. All grief shares some common themes, but each
experience is uniquely different.

The hurt, the loss of identity, the disbelief, the physical,
emotional and spiritual symptoms, and the time it takes
to heal, are all part of grief.

Grief is a process, it takes time and has no rules. Life is not
the same. Who am I now? I find myself in a process of re-
definition. What is my proper title now? Wife? Mate? Or
do I have to say widow, now that he is gone? Finding the
answer to that question, Who am I now?, is the process of
grief and the process of healing.

The Starting Point of All Achievement

My thoughts on chapter 2 of Think And Grow Rich.

Desire:

My thoughts are the starting point. I must chose
a definite goal and place all my energy, all my
will power, all my effort, everything, back of
that goal.

I think the biggest obstacle for me is actually
seeing myself in possession of the kind of money
that I desire. I have been so programed to failure
that my subconscious mind keeps putting that
message out there without being consciously
aware of it.

Hill writes, "Here is where a BURNING DESIRE
will come to your aid. If you truly DESIRE money
so keenly that your desire is an obsession, you
will have no difficulty in convincing yourself that
you will acquire it. The object is to want money,
and to become so determined to have it that
you convince yourself you will have it."

OK, here is a trigger point for me....
[The object is to want money]
Having been brought up in a strong Baptist
based faith belief, "money is the root of all
evil", the desire to have it, programed my mind to
judge myself as a bad person.

If I was worthy of God's love, I should not
have a desire to "want money", and if I did,
I was unworthy.

Wow, I am beginning to see and understand
the programing and how it has affected my life.
By thinking that money is evil, it will never
come to me. So changing my thoughts about
money, I can attract it to me.

Hill says, "You can never have riches in great
quantities unless you can work yourself into a
white heat of desire for money, and actually
believe you will possess it.

Now, I know a white fire is mighty HOT !
I believe that the past three years of dealing
with my husbands illness and preparing for
the inevitable, I worked myself into a white
heat of desire for his wellness and well being.
God had His own desire and plan for Gaylord
and took him Home. All of this has brought me
to a turning point where I have found my other self.

I am on a mission to change my world and
discover the genius which lies asleep within.
For I know that when I set my mind to a mission,
it comes to be. My mission has always been
about someone else and never about me.

I've lived in a yellow care giving mode all of
my life, secretly desiring the fun that blues
possess and frightened to death of a red's
short temper experienced during my childhood.
Only to discover, this past week while visiting
my dear friend and mentor, Sarah Thompson,
that I have some pretty strong green traits.

So, here it is, my burning desire, for right now,
is to find, nurture and believe in Judy. If I can
do this for others, I can and will, do it
for myself. I have always been sure that there
was a way to be successful with a home based
business and Mentoring For Free has come to
show me "How"

Chapter 15- How To Outwit The Six Ghosts of Fear

Taking inventory and finding the "Ghosts" that stand in my way:

The first of the six basic fears is the fear of POVERTY.
I grew up in poverty of material possessions, but my child's
mind saw riches as I showed my childhood friends
through our new home that came with the luxury of
running water, an indoor bathroom an electric stove
and refrigerator that didn't need ice blocks to keep it
cold. I was 12 years old and in my mind, we were rich.

I have been on a mission ever since, to accumulate
riches in the form of financial freedom only to have it
elude me and the battle to go on continues like the
rabbit chasing a carrot that's tied to a string.

So, what is it that stops me from reaching the pot
of gold at the end of the rainbow?
Hill says, "if you want riches, you must refuse to
accept any circumstance that leads toward poverty"

The staring point is desire and desire I have had
from childhood. accepting a poverty mind set now
would be like giving up before the race is over.

Fear of poverty is a state of mind, nothing else!
Possessions are just things that can be replaced.
The mind is too powerful to waste.

A new chapter of my life has opened it's door.
There are two roads on the other side of the door.
One leads to living life in fear of being alone and having
to much month left at the end of my money. That only
leads to giving up on my dreams and settling for what
ever life will give me.

The other road leads to new adventure, new possibilities
and self discoveries. I cannot say that I have no fear,
for stepping into unfamiliar territory is a bit frightening.
However, staying focused on my desire and taking one
day at a time will peel the layers of fear away until I
reach the fruit of my thoughts and dreams.

I have the opportunity to create a new reality for myself
right now. There is nothing in my way except myself
and my thoughts. Taking a lesson from my childhood,
I am rich, look around, I have the gift of unconditional
love from a Master Mind family of friends here at
Mentoring For Free and that is priceless beyond any
measure.

The first and best victory, Hill writes, is to conquer self.
The power of the mind is like the power of Z06 Corvette.
First you fill it with the right fuel, engage the engine and
step on the gas. In the blink of an eye it takes you form
0 to 100 in a heart beat. And that's the power of the mind,
from poverty to riches in a heart beat. It's a state of mind.
I refuse to accept any circumstance that leads to poverty.

Chapter 14 - Think and Grow Rich

The Door To The Temple Of Wisdom The Thirteenth
Step toward Riches

Hill writes the sixth sense defies description and
understanding it comes only by meditation through
mind development
[[from within]]

The process has indeed been slow, but the fog is
lifting. The words are not coming to me quickly
tonight, but what I get from this chapter is....

Meditating on my desires day and night fine tunes
my receiving set through which Infinite Intelligence
can and will communicate.

It truly is like preparing the soil for planting new
ideas, plans, and thoughts. It's OK if I don't under
stand all the principles of this chapter right now.

The starting point is Desire... The finishing point
is KNOWLEDGE which leads to understanding.
Repeating the process will enable me to get rid
of discouragement, master fear, overcome
procrastination, and draw freely on my
imagination and eventually, transmute my
desires into their physical counterpart
easily and consistently.

Think And Grow Rich - Chapter 13....The Brain

A Broadcasting And Receiving Station For Thought

Thoughts are traveling a mile a minute through
my brain right now...........I can feel the rush of
adrenalin rushing through my body as my brain
is bouncing thoughts back and forth.

The Creative Imagination,the receiving set" of
my brain is receiving thoughts being released
by the brains of my mentors, Sarah and
Michael.

You know, I don't always understand everything
I read in this book, but the more I read it the
clearer my understanding gets.

Most of my life I was programed to be quite and
speak only when spoken to. And heaven forbid if
I ever told anybody what I really thought...... My
adolescent years where pretty much based on
the emotion of fear.

I carried this fear with me into adulthood and
at the same time HOPED for a better life.We
learned in the last chapter, and it finally sunk
in, that positive and negative emotions cannot
occupy the mind at the same time.

This explains why I always felt like I was
spinning my wheels and going no where.

Staying plugged into this call and continuing
to participate has not only brought me REAL
HOPE for a better life it has brought me to a
place of being able to broadcast my desire
at a higher rate of vibration.

I am "stepping up" the process through the
power of positive thinking.

Yes, I am worthy of a better life for myself
and my family. Yes, I am a leader.
Yes, I do believe in ME.

Think And Grow Rich - Chapter 12

THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
The Connecting Link

Right now, it is enough for me to remember
that I am living daily in an environment of
thought impulses that reach my
subconscious mind without my knowledge.

Since starting the 30 day cleanse 11 months
ago, I feel less negative and more positive
impulses reaching my conscious mind. I
am more aware of where the negative
impulses are coming from and CHOOSE
to shut off the flow of negativity that I
can control and ACTIVELY engage in
feeding my mind with more positive impulses.

"Everything that I create begins in the
form of a thought impulse." This is more
powerful than I ever imagined, let alone ever
thought of before, and the best thing about
it is I have control over it.

The junk in and junk out days are over.
There's no room for rent in my brain for
negative impulses to reside. My brain now
has a new resident that is actively
entertaining the emotions of Desire, Faith,
Love, Sex, Enthusiasm, Romance and Hope.
Just writing it out gives me a power boost,
kind of like when you drink an energy drink.

I can not think of a better way to explain
the feeling I have than to say, it's like finding
an Oasis in the Desert and drinking from
the well of knowledge. It is a fresh spring
of water to nourish and feed my mind with
the living water of truth and realism that I
Choose to feed it.

Thank you Michael and Linda, as a
shepherd would lead his sheep to good
pastures and fresh water, the mental
cleanse process has led me to finding
the key to unlock the door that holds
me back.

It has been a year well spent cleaning
out the vessel and filling it with fresh life
giving water. The future IS mine to see
what ever I CHOOSE.

Insights From Chapter 11 Think And Grow Rich

The Mystery Of Sex Transmutation

The emotion of sex has back of it the possibility of
three constructive potentialities, they are:

1. The perpetuation of mankind.
Been there..done that..have four beautiful children
that I am grateful for.

2. The maintenance of health
(as a therapeutic agency, it has no equal)

I would say that I am full swing into this stage and
doing quite well. The powerful emotion of sex has
been transmuted into energy that powers my mind
and emotions to think in positive terms about the
diagnoses the Doctors gave my husband in Jan
2006. In June of 2006 the Doctors gave my
husband less than 6 months to live.

Oh sure, at first it was a big blow and my mind
began to panic, but after a week of mental turmoil,
the energy and emotion shifted to survival
techniques. It is now Jan 2009, three years
latter, three years stronger, and three times
more energized.

I am not going to let this diagnoses stop our life.
I don't live in denial of the inevitable either, we
will all face that day in due time, but I choose to
live each day to the fullest and harvest the joy
that each day brings.

I continue to do what ever it takes to make each
day a special day.

My husband made the comment just the other
day, "you work so hard, how do you stay so
positive all the time?" Hmm, I'm so grateful
it shines through the clouds.

I didn't really understand this until now, and
correct me if am wrong...here it is again, the
powerful emotion of sex being changed into the
energy needed to maintain not only my health
and well being, but my husbands as well.

And as for #3 The transformation of mediocrity
into genius through transmutation. I am on a
mission to improve my life and my families life.

I will not be stopped. Here again the emotion
of sex has been transmuted into an unstoppable
energy and mind set that will enable me to
succeed It is a powerfully strong and very real
desire that motivates and energizes me to stay
positively focused in a world of uncertainty.

Michael and Linda, I am so very grateful for this
magnificent tool that you have created, genius
through transmutation, to help me and any one
who is willing to invest in themselves, to
become more.

Chapter 9 - PERSISTENCE
The Sustained Effort Necessary To Induce Faith

Most people fail because they quit things BEFORE
they give the things a chance to work..At the first
sign of difficulty, they are "out of here".

Most network marketers quit working with a company
before their first year is complete. They are probably
driven by a WISH, not a REAL DESIRE for SPECIFIC
results - no CLEARLY DEFINED "WHY".

The question I often hear is, "How do I develop
BELIEF?" They seem to be looking for some
magical belief-button to press and make it so.

BELIEF develops through a PROCESS, over time.
It did for me. I had to TRUST the PROCESS, and
had the WILLINGNESS to PERSIST at it.

How many approach the 30-Day Mental Cleanse
with merely a WISH to become more?

I became fully immersed in this process on January
2, 2008. I had a strong DESIRE to become more.

The funny thing about progress is, it is so gradual,
I realized I had experienced growth after the fact.
For me, the realization came while we were
discussing Chapter 10 for the THIRD time on
October 1, 2008 - ten months after I began the
process.

I do not allow FEAR OF CRITICISM to get in my way.

My daughter recently asked me if I had made my
first million yet. I asked her why she was obsessed
with a million dollars.

I only need $5,000 in recurring income outside of a
job to have the equivalent income of a millionaire.

I am much further toward my goal than those who
PERSIST by buying lottery tickets every week.

I am getting closer every day - PERSISTING with
daily action along the Slight Edge Curve.

Whatever doesn't kill me, makes me stronger.

Chapter 9 - Persistence
The Sustained effort necessary to induce faith.

When I first started network marketing I had the
persistence. What else could it have been as
large sums of money were being drained from
me weekly and I marched without hesitation
despite having less than 20% of my outgo
return to me?

I was taught to NEVER talk about the money I
was spending ONLY the money I was making.
How foolish and very interesting I bought that
line of thinking so easily. I had no plan, and
the system was not "duplicatable" as I look
back now seeing how they changed the
system every 3-6 weeks because we were
told that they were keeping up with the times.

With the encouragement of a reckless upline
who "egged me on" (for lack of better terms) to
"keep on keeping on" knowing that I was in the
midst of discouragement would tell me that I
was on the edge of "making it big" with all my
money flying out the door and no REAL progress.

Ummm..no - I wasn't on on the edge of making
it big and was initially too caught up in blindly
believing to acknowledge or grasp that "nagging
something" inside me that was saying this
doesn't look right.

It took me several months to face up to the fact
I could no longer continue to work network
marketing as my funds were near extinct.

I left this company determined to find a
company that had a better pay plan and did
not require me to spend a fortune every month
to build.

Several companies later I was burned out but
still hopeful. I knew something was out there
for me.

When I found Mentoring For Free I was excited
because it was exactly what I was looking for,
but something inside me was broken. My
burning desire seemed foreign to me and the
persistence I thought I once had fizzled. My
persistence was replaced with thinking about
and wishing about - persistently. &nnbsp;

Whatever one believes they want to do MUST
be answered with a DEFINITENESS OF
PURPOSE because what it is I think I want
is irrelevant if I am "unable to define these
terms, or give the slightest indication of a
plan by which I hope to attain these vaguely
expressed wishes.

Riches do not respond to wishes.... They
respond only to definite plans,,, backed by
definite desires, through constant persistence."

If I once had persistence and it was depleted
due to my inability to handle disappointment
how exciting is it to see that persistence is
developed within me using 4 steps that only
require MY time and effort.

As I build my habits using the slight edge
chart by opening up time to take action and
work my plan, building a fortress for my mind
with self talk, and participating in the mental
cleanse submitting my lesson and VERBALLY
participating with like minded people these
three steps are becoming solid, more
grounded in my life, and are taking shape
with determined focus to overcome me.

The persistence I employ now create skills I
require to battle disappointments of all kinds
that are inevitable at some point in the future
while I am building my network marketing
company.

My fourth and final step has been given the
red carpet treatment so to speak, possibly
even glittering lights too because this step
will have a grand entrance when it makes
its appearance.

As I live every day in an attitude of gratitude
using mediation and self talk as my guide I
see more doors opening, my world has
slowed down, and I feel the walls of fear I
built loosening as I confront all I have buried
inside over the past few years.

As each brick is removed I gain focus and
confidence. I know this last step cannot be
casually tossed aside it must be nurtured,
loved, and cared for as I uncover this mighty
gem knowing I deserve to rekindle my burning
desire and every step forward puts me that
much closer to obtaining this treasure.

My instructions in this chapter were to have
the 6 steps from Chapter 2, front and center.

Many times I have printed this with the
intention to memorize and own it only to
have this lost in the shuffle of papers.

Today I have reprinted it and added this to
my checklist. Oh my gosh I have a checklist!!

What an awesome tool and I wonder what my life
would be like today if someone had invented the
checklist years ago (big grin).

The Eighth Step toward Riches

In his book "Think And Grow Rich" Hill writes, "Persistence is an essential factor in the procedure of transmuting DESIRE into its monetary equivalent. The basis of persistence is the POWER OF WILL."

The most important step Hill says, is knowing what it is you want. I know for sure the one thing I want is time freedom to spend where I want, with whom I want and when I want. It defiantly is later than I think and what have I been doing with my life?

Well, like most people, I have been listening to the wrong advice when it comes to cultivated a state of mind that produces the desired outcome I have been trying to achieve. But that is changing.

Hill says its easy to acquire and to maintain persistence when pursuing the object of intense desire. I must say that is true, at least for me or I would have given up a long time ago.

I have struggled over the years, with my belief in my own ability to carry out a plan and not sabotage it. I am ever so grateful for the friends I have made through the free mentoring community who have encouraged and supported me to continue my journey, write out my plan, and follow it step by step.

Do I have a definite purpose backed by burning desire for its fulfillment?

Yes, very definitely!

Do I have a definite plan, expressed in continuous action?

In all honesty, I have to say I am working on me to enable that plan and move forward into continuous action. It's interesting, this past year, I have become more aware of the things I do to sabotage my plan. I am a work in progress and mastering my own mind will enable me to be a better mentor and coach to others.

Do I have a mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences?

Again, its a work in progress. I'd be lying if I said negative comments, especially from friends and relatives, didn't effect me. All the more reason to stay close to fire, say my self talk and stay focused on my desire. It truly is getting easier to reverse the negative thoughts.

Do I have a friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage me to follow through with both plan and purpose?

Most defiantly! And I can say, without a doubt, I now know what it's like to own my life.

Making Decisions

Thinking about growing rich ? Ya, me too and I have been for some time now. There is a saying out there, "Thoughts become things so choose the good ones" Sounds like a plan.

So, what about Decision Making, what's that got to do with it? There have been studies done of people who accumulated large fortunes and it was found that every one of them had habits of reaching decisions promptly and of changing these decisions slowly, if and when they changed them at all.

The study also showed that people who have failed to accumulate money, had the habit of reaching decisions, if at all, very slowly, and of changing their decisions quickly and often.

The majority of people who fail to accumulate money sufficient for their needs are, generally, easily influenced by the opinions of others. Everyone has opinions ready to be wished upon anyone who will accept them. If you are influenced by opinions when you reach decisions, you will not succeed in any understanding, much less in that of transforming your own desire into money.

It is recommended then that we keep our own counsel. Reach our own decisions and follow them. Taking no one into our confidence except members of our Master Mind group, Click Here , and be very sure in the selection of this group that you choose only those who will be in complete sympathy and harmony with your purpose. And even then, don't make their opinions your own as a matter of course.

So, I think I'm on the right track...I've decided that in order for me to have the time freedom that I desire, I MUST learn a system to achieve that goal which I desire. Trouble is, I've been learning lots of systems and none of them have worked! That is until recently. I have had the good fortune to meet Sarah Thompson who introduced me to Michael Dlouhy and a system called Mentoring For Free.

Now, I am constantly learning new ways of thinking through my old habits and developing new ways and habits to reach my desired outcome....Time Freedom....I learn something new every time I connect with my Master Mind group.

The Crystallization of Desire Into Action

So many nuggets, so little time!

In past years, this chapter tended to paralyze
me. I thought I had to digest all the elements
presented and build a magnificent plan before
taking any ACTION!

No, no, NO! I can start with a SIMPLE plan
and TAKE ACTION, refining and advancing
the plan as I go.

The "Perfect Plan" cannot evolve without
testing - ACTION.

Dr. Hill again instructs me to seek the help
of the Mastermind, making my contributions
to it in a spirit of HARMONY. My TEAM al-
ready HAS a plan - I only need to follow it
and POINT.

I am not paid for what I KNOW, but how I
ACT on what I know - contrary to what the
"gurus" preach about creating and marketing
"info products".

The sections on marketing oneself, leadership
qualities, and the causes of failure all seem
to point to one theme:

SERVICE and the SERVANT'S HEART.

The question is not, "What do You have for
me?" - but "How can I serve YOU?"

Dr. Hill masterfully describes how ORGANIZED
CAPITAL is the engine of FREEDOM, and how
CAPITAL is not really about money, but about
ORGANIZED BRAIN-POWER to better SERVE
the masses.

Hill explodes the myth, "It Takes Money to Make
Money." Witness the folly of those who subscribe
to the myth:

Billions lost in hedge fund Ponzi schemes.

Government, er, TAXPAYER bail-outs which
accomplish nothing but prolonged misery -
rewarding fools for their folly.

Houses "flipped" so many times - they have

As I read this chapter it felt as though
Hill was describing the way things are today.
With gloom and doom all around us, it can suck
you in and consume you.

An old saying that I remember from childhood, If at

has been put in place where all who try will succeed.

If you give up before your goal has been reached,
you are a “quitter.”

The Workshop of The Mind

In his book "Think And Grow Rich" Hill writes,
" Imagination is the workshop of the mind....
Ideas are the beginning points of all fortunes.

While I have not yet made my fortune, I am
at the beginning point and what better place to
be than at the beginning. The possibilities are
endless...

I am living proof that man can create
anything which he can imagine. The odds
of me succeeding in anything have been
unfavorable to say the least.

As I look back over my life, times
have been financially hard for my family all
of my life, but I realize now that this is a mind set.

There have been many challenges along the
way. But today, and from this day forward,
I want to focus on what is possible and how
to give it concrete form.

I have imagined being successful in what ever task
I take on and I have been. Some have been more
challenging than others, but I have grown in
understanding and wisdom. Many lessons have
been learned and that I am grateful for.

Yes, even at the age of 65 years young there are
so many possibilities to imagine. The list is endless
and I plan never to run out of ideas to imagine all
that is possible.

My creative imagination is what has gotten me to
this place and time in my life. And now, better late
than never, I'm discovering that I need to work on
developing a thing called synthetic imagination.

Hum mm, Transformation of the intangible impulse,
of desire, into the tangible reality, of money, calls
for the use of a plan, or plans. These plans must be
formed with the aid of the imagination, and mainly,
with the synthetic faculty.

Wait a minute, I think I've heard this before and read it
before, but something is different this time. I have
arrived at a new understanding of putting my imagination
to work by physically building a plan of action and working
that plan consistently. Yes, I'm actually seeing results.

The simple act of writing out my plan and following it step
by step every day is easy to do and it's easy not to do.
The choice is all mine, do I want to stay where I am or
do I want something better?

Sure, it takes discipline, sure life gets in the way, but it's
taking that first step in a series of steps that will enable
me to convert the thought into it's physical form.

Like the infant that crawls to reach his desired destination,
and does, I too with determination, definiteness of purpose
and the desire to create anything which I can imagine...
will be given concrete form. It's time to stop thinking and
start doing. I like this quote at the end of the chapter:
"Success Requires No Explanations...Failure Permits No Alibis"

The Secret Income of Multi-Millionaires -Part 4

"Imagine if you had a million dollars sitting in your savings account. And imagine you knew exactly how to invest the money without losing it all. You did the work right one time and today you'd collect a dividened check for $5,000 every month. Even after you quit your

Here's the rest of the story, my multi-millionaire friend shared.

FM: "The first type of income is linear income. It's when you trade
time for money. If you are like most people, you have to work
for a living. If you don't work, you don't get paid.

When a school bus driver drives a school bus, he gets paid. When
his shift is over at 5 p.m., he stops getting paid.

When a surgeon performs surgery, she gets paid. When her shift
is over at 5 p.m., she stops getting paid."

What he told me next really opened my eyes.

"Even though the surgeon gets paid a lot more, ultimately both
the school bus driver and the surgeon are in the exact same boat.
They are both trading time for money."

That's how linear income works. You receive income when you work.
When you stop working, your income stops. Linear income continues
only as long as you continue to work."

The second type of income is a lot different. He called it Royalty Income.

How Will You Achieve Your Dreams?

I've been thinking a lot about this lately. How will I achieve my dream? Well it starts with a desire to do so and having the right attitude. This is what my good friend and mentor Michael Dlouhy say's, Expect Change and you'll achieve your dreams.

There’s one thing you can be certain about in your MLM business - just as in your life - it will change. If you’ve been at network marketing very long, you have already seen a ton of change. In your group, your company, your leaders, yourself. Change can be traumatic … but only if you let it.

People get closer. People drift away. Business goes well. Business sags. People are born. People die. Companies flourish. Companies die. The only constant is change, so it just doesn’t make sense to be totally surprised when things change.
It makes a lot more sense to expect change. When your car breaks down, why be surprised or disappointed or - in some cases - immobilized? Most towns in the U.S. - even little itty-bitty towns - have one or more auto repair shops loaded with cars that stopped working today or yesterday. Obviously, it’s very predictable.
I’ve seen people go into a tailspin in network marketing because their best person quit. Sure, it’s a setback. So what? As they say, if it were easy, everybody would do it. The biggest part of your success in your MLM business is your mind - your attitude. I can guarantee you, bad things will happen on your road to success. So expect that. Plan for it. And plan to just keep right on going, regardless.

THAT is how you will achieve your dreams.

Why I Want To Own My Life......

I want to own my life so I can spend more time doing what I want, when I want ,with whom I want and spend or donate as much or as little as I want to help make this world a better place for ALL PEOPLE EVERY WHERE!

People that I want to spend more time with include my husband, my kids, grand kids and great grand kids and my extended family of friends around the world while building relationships with new friends that I'm am soon to meet.

Some of the things I want to do are; go deep sea fishing in the Gulf, scuba diving in Hawaii, ride in a hot air balloon over New Zealand, Sail the Mediterranean, wake up when I'm done sleeping. Want to join me, come on, we'll have a ton of "FUN"!

I have had the privilege of going on a short term volunteer mission trip to Costa Rica. Our team helped a village in Fortuna, build a parsonage. The experience left me with a hunger to do more for others when ever the opportunity presented it's self to me. You see, I went with the idea that I was giving a gift of my time, money and effort, but I came home with a bigger gift. The gift I came home with was love and friendship of people in another country who I would never have met if I hadn't been open to the opportunity when it knocked on my door.

So, my why is so I can connect with more people and give them my friendship, love and support for a brighter future than they have today. I am having FUN building the most incredible team of like minded leaders in the history of network marketing through education and teamwork.

Good morning folks, I am off on another adventure, learning how to blog and then link it to my other web pages. It's very interesting how the internet works to connect you here, there and everywhere else. I don't have it all mastered yet, but I will. Just be patient and give me time to figure it out. You know the best teacher is learning from our mistakes. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
Now I dated myself, oh well, not bad for a great grandma.
